I find doing unobtrusive candid portraits of guests mingling mixed with impromptu, casually posed small group shots works well. I concentrate on portraits of family and friends, but also capture the rings, flowers, shoes, venue, cake, drinks etc.
Catherine and Richard's wedding ceremony at Richmond registry office (http://www.richmond.gov.uk/registration_services) was followed by a relaxed drinks reception at a lovely local pub after. The kids had their own play area ta the back full of toys and snacks, the groom had sourced some colourful wellies for fun vases for the tables -loved the idea! We had all the trees in full bloom and a warm sunny April day (2015).
Richmond Register Office is a popular Surrey wedding venue situated in a fine Grade ll listed Georgian Building a few minutes’ walk from Richmond Station. There is just one wedding ceremony room, but it is just perfect for a small, intimate wedding (it can seat up to 40 guests). From a wedding photographer's point of view, it's a great location with plenty of outside space, beautiful natural light and a classic, elegant decor.
