Beverley and Scott's natural, relaxed wedding photos from their celebration at Salmestone Grange...
Above is a selection of wedding photography at the historic Salmestone Grange in Margate Kent by wedding photographer Minna Rossi. In the initial wedding photography consultation Beverley and Scott said they really like the photojournalistic style wedding photography that captures spontaneous moments and the emotion and joy of their day. They did want some more formal portraits of the two of them and group shots to look back on in years to come, but overall they definitely preferred modern, unstuffy and natural looking, relaxed portraits. It is also nice to include some photos of the little details that help tell the story of the day; notes and gifts from the groom, the design and close ups of the lace of the dress, the gifts given tot he bridesmaids and the men in the family holding up their matching wedding bands. As every couple have a story to tell and have different things that are meaningful to them, I like to get to know them and find out what they would like photos of.
Beverley and Scott had planned an elegant, but fun and relaxed wedding at the historic Salmestone Grange in Margate. It's the first time I've actually photographed in the area, but found Salmestone Grange and it's leafy garden and tranquil surroundings a fantastic backdrop to shoot against. It is an exclusive 14th century venue and actually one of the area's oldest inhabited buildings. I'm based in London, but happily travel to shoot weddings across the UK and beyond so going to Broadstairs and Margate for the day wasn't a problem at all.
The weather on the day was just perfect, warm and sunny, but not too hot. We started the coverage with the bride getting ready at her parents' home close by in Broadstairs, Kent, where we got some fun, natural shots of the bridesmaids, Beverley and her family before leaving for the wedding ceremony. The reception was heldat the same venue, downstairs in the Banqueting Halls of Salmestone Grange with emotional speeches and drinks, dancing and fun later on.
